I'M A POET AND I KNOW IT

FOR MY FATHER OH SO DEAR!  <3
She couldn't begin to know from the start
how much love she can hold in her heart

For the father that held her hand as she learn to walk,
with a loving smile he taught her to talk.
He's walking her though life,
They comfort each other in times of great strife.

For her father oh so dear,
also her friend so near.
He teaches her to let go of fear.

He lead me though the darkness,
to the light.
Tough her to fight,
for what she knows right.

They have their good times and bad.
They keep each other from being sad.

If there is something that is troubling her mind,
that she cant press rewind...
Her dad is there, for she can share
and he will care.

so thats a good dad,
that she will ever have.

FAHRENHEIT 451

1.) Guy Montag is the protagonist, who presents the dystopia through the eyes of a worker loyal to it, a man in conflict about it, and one resolved to be free of it...
2.) Clarisse McClellan walks with Montag on his trips home, focusing on nature rather than on technology...
3.) Mildred Montag is Guy Montag's wife, addicted to sleeping pills, absorbed in the shallow dramas played on her "parlor walls" (flat-panel televisions), and indifferent to the oppressive society around her...
4.) Captain Beatty is Montag's boss,he has come to hate books due to their unpleasant content and contradicting facts and opinions...
5.) Faber is a former English professor, spent years regretting that he did not defend books when he saw the moves to ban them...
6.) Mrs. Bowles and Mrs. Phelps are Mildred's friends, are representative of the anti-intellectual, hedonistic society presented in the novel...
7.)Granger is the leader of a group of wandering intellectual exiles who memorize books in order to preserve their contents.
8.)Stoneman and Black are other firemen that are mentioned in the novel, Their main purpose in the novel is to show the reader the contrast between the firemen who do as they're told without question and someone like Montag...
9.) They are not allowed to have any books at all because they are ban, but yet some people hide them and eventually get caught for having them.
1o.) The novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed and firemen burn any house that contains them...The book's title refers to the temperature that Bradbury understood to be the autoignition point of book paper.

THEME FOR ENGLISH B

Yes I am the person that my teachers think I am… I try my best and try to go beyond the things that I have to do if its possible and I try to never give up no matter how hard it is. As I pursue knowledge I can be my real self because I can have the knowledge to do what I want. So that means it doesn’t matter what color or who I am but that I can do anything in life and I will succeed. I find my self in a place that I want to be for example I want to be a doctor. There is times that I think that teachers are not treating people that are different color and / or races. In reality I think that everyone has there different thoughts that they think…so I say that because it looks like the colored person on the poem thinks that its he is treated or is different… Only because he has his own thoughts that about what he has to do.. I know that there are others that what to say what they think but others don’t what to know what they think because there opinion is different and then they might want to argue about it. So I think that everyone can express him or herself in any way and know that it might help us understand things better. For example, the poem is one way to show what you think.

BIG IDEA!!!!!!!!

I want to be a doctor. I have to accomplish my English skills which include communication. using this course can help me in many ways... like researching and seeing what I may need to know when I get there. as in that I mean find ways to communicate with people and read or look into what I may have to do to accomplish what my goal is.

***SPRING POST*** 1. "MUSIC ASW LITERATURE"

Yes we can consider music to be literature because its considered the background of American literature. American literature is stories, something written, songs that express something that help us understand things more clearly. In my opinion I don't think that there is a difference between a novel, a poem, a rap, a song, an opera, and a symphony because as i said the music or anything that has been written its something that is like the background of American literature  and makes a difference in everything that we think and talk about.

book report #3

Carmen buys a pair of jeans at a thrift shop. Magically, the pants fit Carmen and her three best friends. The other three friends are Lena, Tibby, and Bridget.Even though the girls have very different bodies. The girls, who “met” before birth when their mothers were in a prenatal aerobics class together, are spending this summer apart—their first significant separation. Carmen will go to South Carolina to spend the summer with her father. Lena will go to Greece with her sister, Effie, to spend the summer with their grandparents. Bridget will spend the summer at soccer camp in Baja California, Mexico. Only Tibby will stay home in Maryland, to work at Wallman’s, a superstore. Before each girl sets off to her summer destination, they have a friendship ceremony at Gilda’s gym, where their mothers met so many years ago. To stay close while they’re apart, they vow to send the pants—which they call the Traveling Pants—to one another throughout the summer.I think the tone is loving and kind because it shows us that they will do whatever to have a friendship and when they get mad with each other the will still show that they love one another. This story shows allusion, personification, similes and others more. Carmen is a person that is more focused in school. Bridget is a more athletic person and likes to do new things. After reading this book i feel like i was part of the store and I personally love this book... I recommend it to my friends.
