LAQ :)

Its about black maids working for white women that live in the south and have no respect. Most of the maids took care of generational white families. Although they had families of their own. They are treated badly but the maids affaid to speak or do anything about it because they can lose everything theys have. The maids take care of the children and they bond with them like it was their own child. They were not just maids for the family, they were also nannies. The white people drop of their parenting to these maids.

Racism takes a big part of this novel because the blacks had to live with it. They were affaid of there lives because if they spoke out they were in jeoperty of losing there lives by the KKK.

The auther wanted us to have a perspective of  what it was like being a southern maid and to see what they have to deal with in they lives.

Aibileen was a black character that lost her son and hates how her people has been mistreated. She respected everyone although she was not given the same respect back. She wanted to make a change in her life. By that said Skeeter gives her that chance to speak without the white people know ing its her. Skeeter was her writer. She wanted to make a point in what she wants to do in her life.

Sketter was a white person that wanted to show others she can write and she just needed a chance to prove herself. She needed a story that can show she is a jounalist. So she did write to prove herself and others that she can be a jounalist. She wrote about life as a maid in the south and how it affects them.

Celia Foote - Newest resident of Jackson, Mississippi, winds up hiring Minny because she cannot cook and initially tries to hide Minny’s involvement with the house cleaning and cooking from her husband, Johnny Foote. Celia has also been unsucessful at carrying a fetus to term. She forms an unlikely bond with the sharp tongued Minny. Celia dresses provocatively, but is really a sweet person. She’s also unaware of the history between her husband and Hilly (they were together prior to Johnny meeting Celia).

Minny Jackson - The “sassy” maid, Minny’s mouth has gotten her into trouble one too many times. Aibileen’s friend, and a character who’s unable to keep employment because of her bossy demeanor and sharp tongue. After she loses her job with Miss Walters (Hilly’s mother), Aibileen helps her land another one with Celia Foote, who’s considered white trash and is shunned by sorority sisters and socialites like Hilly and Elizabeth. Minny is married with five children and a sixth on the way.

When I finished reading the book it made me realize that I not the only one that had a bad life time and that life is better know then ever. It also shows people character flaws that makes you want to be a better person.

REFLEXION ON ESSAY -.-

I think I could of asked my teacher to re-word the topic we had to write about because some students and I were confused about what we has to write about. But I tried my best although I don't know if I did what is required for this essay. I think I could have written a better  essay with all the requirements that it needs. Overall I thought I did a okay job.   (BUT I THINK I CAN DO BETTER)
